From Hannah- Did you know that when you buy store-bought soap, it is not really soap? Soap is a mixture of fats/oils and sodium hydroxide (or, lye). When combined, these create a chemical reaction known as saponification. That is what makes soap! It also creates glycerin (the best moisturizer in the world!). Glycerin is removed from store-bought soaps and placed into moisturizers, requiring you to buy more products and spend more money. Store-bought soaps are also chemical and petrolyeum-based detergents. So, not only are they bad for your skin, but also for the environment. My homemade soaps cleanse, bubble, and moisturize like nothing you have ever used before. These soaps are made with essential oils and fragrance oils for a wide range of scents. They are also colored naturally with mica, clays, herbs, and food-based products (cocoa powder, honey, etc.)
